I have been relying on Method all-purpose cleaning sprays for all my cleaning needs for a few years now, and they work great. But that means that every time I finish a bottle, it’s another piece of plastic waste. Luckily for me (and you) there is the easiest solution to this cleaning conundrum – a homemade cleaning spray that you can make over and over again, with just three ingredients.
All you need to create this super effective and all-natural cleaner is white vinegar, water and a few drops of essential oil like lavender or eucalyptus to help curb the strong smell of the vinegar. Mix three parts water with one part vinegar in a glass, re-usable spray bottle, add 5-10 drops of essential oil and you’re ready to get cleaning!
White vinegar can be found at most grocery stores and is generally sold in a glass bottle, so it’s a great zero-waste product that can be used in a variety of ways. In terms of glass spray bottles, I purchased this pair from Wild Minimalist and they work great! When it comes to essential oils, I like to shop at Oui Fresh for a wide variety of options in perfectly-sized glass vials.
The other fantastic thing about this cleaner – besides being quick to make and super effective – it’s also guaranteed to save you some money. Instead of paying $4 each time you need an all-purpose cleaner, you’ll have everything you need right in your kitchen cupboard!
Happy zero-waste cleaning!
